This session at Sylvan Lake in Custer State Park South Dakota is one for the books.
As a well seasoned photographer I have seen my fair share of weather and you would think I would be prepared for anything.
Well, this time I was not. I showed up in my little low top sneaker type shoes with no-show socks.
As I was approaching Sylvan Lake I knew instantly I was in trouble. A few days prior we had a snow storm that gave the Black Hills about 21" of snow. Well in Rapid City we got snow as well but it had already melted so I thought it would be safe to wear sneakers at a higher elevation.
Um......Miyako what were you thinking?!?!
Well needless to say this family was amazing and went with the flow. They too were not prepared in the shoe department so we all left Sylvan Lake that day with very cold, wet feet.
This Black Hills fall session turned into a winter wonderland and I am totally ok with that. I had so much fun and I can't wait to head back up to Sylvan Lake and capture more beautiful families.
